This year marked Carolina Friends School’s debut in the newly formed Central Carolina Athletic Conference. Our school fielded 20 teams across three seasons, with 373 total team participants, including many student-athletes who played multiple sports.
A highlight of joining the conference: eligibility for conference awards. Two Carolina Friends School coaches earned Coach of the Year honors: Frank Omonte for Upper School girl’s soccer and Kathryn Pollak for Upper School girl’s tennis. The award is peer-nominated by coaches from opposing schools.
“I hear time and time again about Frank and Kathryn’s beautiful balance of caring for their players and their opponents,” said Athletics Director Kim Sulman. “We’re fortunate to have coaches who value developing not only strong athletes but good humans.”
