New Lower School Playground
The equipment on the Lower School’s playground by the creek has served us for decades, generating many joyful memories. Built by dedicated community members, the structures have been lovingly stewarded by our Shop staff, but are reaching the end of their lifespan.
This provided us with an opportunity to invest in our children’s play, and the importance of that play in the daily rhythms of the Lower School. We want a playground that will celebrate and honor the outdoors, will allow us to keep the mature stand of pines intact, will integrate natural materials, and provide accessible play structures.
With student-created design ideas, we have worked with Tree Top Builders to create a design that meets our needs and open up the world of children’s development through play and exploration of the outside world. Construction has begun, and we look forward to updating the community as this exciting new playground comes to life!
