Carolina Friends School’s mission and values.
Mission
Carolina Friends School is a vibrant and inclusive learning community empowering students to think critically, creatively, and independently. We foster active exploration and quiet reflection, individual endeavor and collaborative engagement. Inspired by Quaker values—pursuit of truth, respect for all, peaceful resolution of conflict, simplicity, and the call to service—we teach our children that it is possible to change the world.
Values
Quakers believe in the ability of each individual to become their best self, the power of community, and the importance of acting for the greater good. We are secular, inclusive, and deeply guided by Quaker values including the belief that truth is continually revealed, the commitment to accept and respect everyone’s uniqueness, the willingness to seek peace within oneself and others, the understanding that all life is spiritual, the value of simplicity, and the power of silence.
