School Leadership Team
Matters that impact the entire School’s curriculum and daily operations are taken up by Friday Meeting. This group meets regularly and serves as a vital communication and cooperation link among the units.
Our school is a secular organization guided both by Quaker values and also by Quaker practices. The goal of each Meeting for Business is to come to decisions by consensus, or the “sense of the group.” Discussions are led by the meeting’s clerk, whose role includes ensuring that each individual is heard and understood and that members speak from their own perspectives and experiences. We highly value both individual experience and research-based best practices and understandings.
COVID Advisory and Research Subcommittee of Friday Meeting
This subcommittee of Friday Meeting is responsible for reviewing updated guidance from local, state, and national authorities; assessing COVID-19 mitigation protocols; and liaising with the volunteer Health Advisory Committee. Proposals that impact all units are then taken up by Friday Meeting. The subcommittee consists of the Head of School, Director of Facilities, Director of Finance and HR, Director of the Institute for Teaching and Learning, Director of Athletics, and the School Nurse.
