CIT & Interns

After registration opens, interested candidates should submit their application to the Extended Learning Office using this online form. 

Please have a parent create a new CampInTouch account or, if you were a student in a previous year, go to your account.

If you've never been a CIT or you're 12 and want to get a head start for next summer, please enroll in one of the Leadership Challenge sessions (offered usually three to four times each summer). 

Use our CampInTouch system to enroll in the weeks you'd like to serve. The CIT Program has its own entry distinct from the Summer Programs drop-down menu — please look a bit further down that page.

On the online enrollment form you must select at least two weeks to serve as a CIT. If a session is full and you end up on the Waitlist, please check back with us, summer plans do change and we may have openings.

Please note that our CIT/Intern Coordinator is a seasonal employee, so we will confirm your position as a CIT in the spring, but you won't receive your specific camp placements until summer.

Note for Parents: We'll confirm your student's CIT position via email after we receive the:

• online Google form application submission
• online enrollment and tuition through CampInTouch

CIT applicants should peruse the course offerings and select the classes or types of classes (art, outdoors, sports, etc.) they are interested in assisting, noting those preferences in the online application. We can't guarantee choices, but we do our best to accommodate your areas of strength and interest.

You won't be placed in programs serving your same age, although you're welcome to take a Summer Programs course as a student during weeks you are not serving as a CIT.

As a CIT, you will join together with a meeting where fellow CITs and our CIT/Intern Coordinator engage in leadership activities, role-playing exercises, class debriefings, and preparation for camp.

During the camp day, you're generally with the class to which you've been assigned. You will assist the teacher with various activities and work directly with the campers. You will also have some minor cleaning/sanitizing responsibility for equipment, materials, or surfaces in the classroom, along with our cleaning staff and the instructor. 

We work with you as you practice leading groups of children and following directions from your mentor teacher. We check in with you during the day to make sure you're on the right track, listen to your input, and support your work. By the end of the week, we hope you will feel confident in your own leadership and problem-solving skills, that you will have developed a sense of your own leadership style, and that you will have learned some new skills from your mentors. We hope you'll find your service valuable both as tangible experience and for your resume. And have some fun along the way!

We assess the candidacies of interested students at periodic intervals on a rolling basis, and may request a brief virtual interview as part of the process. Please allow at least 2-3 weeks for us to process your application.
