Registration generally opens towards the end of January. For pandemic safety reasons, we'll limit most courses to only 10 spaces, and information on course availability is continually updated once registration opens.

There is a $15 per family fee with each year's registration.
To complete registration, a non-refundable tuition deposit fee of 25% is required, payable by credit card or check. You're also welcome to pay more or in full.
We work hard to provide a high quality educational program that is as affordable for families as possible. Our scheduled on-campus 2020 courses generally ran from $295 to $325 per week; costs are listed in each course description.
From that amount, we:
cover course-specific and program-wide expenses
provide tuition assistance (please see FAQs below) for students who wouldn't otherwise be able to participate
compensate our staff (and are intentional about wanting to increase what we're able to do for them over a multi-year span)
return to the School resources that support teaching and learning during the academic year.
We do offer some tuition support and also partner with other nonprofit organizations providing support for students.

We happily maintain a waitlist, especially because we do sometimes have cancellations. Enrollments are accepted up to the first day of each session.
If a class is full, we encourage you to enroll in an alternative course AND then to contact us to go on the manual waitlist for the original choice (there is no tuition deposit required for the waitlist course).
Date of waitlist request is a primary factor for placement as openings become available. If an opportunity arises for your family, we'll contact you to see if you're still interested and make the shift without charge.
Remember that as families' plans change, so does our website, so please check back with us. We'll keep the weekly courses pages up-to-date on openings.
We're glad to work with you if installment payments would be helpful.
Should you decide to cancel your registration before May 15, we'll refund monies paid in excess of the deposit.
After May 15, no refunds are possible and full payment is due. However, if we are able to fill your space, you'll receive a refund minus your deposit and a $25 administrative fee.
There is no fee to change to a different course or a different week before May 31. After that date, with the exception of the waitlist options listed above, new enrollments require a minimum of a $20 administrative fee (and in some circumstances the deposit amount as well).
We cannot refund for illness during a session unless we can fill your child's space; if we are able to, you'll receive a refund minus your deposit and a $25 administrative fee.
All courses are dependent on minimum enrollment. We regret having to cancel any course and try to do so with as much notice as possible; in those rare circumstances, we're always happy to move a student into any available class with no charge or to issue a full refund.
All Summer Programs staff are required to meet background check requirements. Many are also school-year staff of Carolina Friends School and receive regular first aid and CPR training and a trauma-informed training designed to nurture healthy relationships for and prevent abuse of children.
Thorough information on the medical forms allows our teachers to ensure a joyful and safe experience for all students. If a staff member encounters behavioral issues connected to a medical or behavioral condition not disclosed, we reserve the right not to invite the student back for that session or future sessions.
