Extended Day

To better meet Summer Programs families' needs, we offer Extended Day care for children on main campus from 8:00 to 9:00 am and/or from 3:00 pm to 4:00/5:45 pm each day.

Extended Day is divided into two age-based groups under supervision of an adult leader with paid college and high school assistants. In addition to indoor and outdoor physical activities, students may play board games, draw, and read (or be read to). All students are located in our main gym. Our supervisor to student ratio is about 1:8.

Please note we do not offer Extended Day care for campers at the Chapel Hill campus (CHES). If your Early Learner at CHES has an older sibling on main campus, we will provide Extended Day gratis for the older sibling until 3:30 pm, so there is time to pick up both of your campers.

Cost 2026

The weekly fee for Extended Day is a separate charge from tuition for the 9:00 am to 3:00 pm courses:

Drop-In/Emergency Care is $12 per hour or portion thereof. We charge drop-ins weekly. If you have any questions about your bill, please email extendedlearning@cfsnc.org or call (984) 316-0123. 

We appreciate your kindness in picking up your child on time, and please note that there will be a $5 late fee assessed for every five (5) minutes beyond the registered Extended Day period. If you prefer not to pay on site, we'll gladly bill you.

Registration

We don't have capacity limits, so you may enroll in Summer Programs Extended Day during or after registration for courses using our CampInTouch system. You may add Extended Day at any time, ideally with at least one week's notice.
