Anime Adventures: Exploring English Through Japanese Animation (11-18)
Tuition: 350
Course: Narratives! They move the soul and exist in all walks of life. Often the joy of narratives is lost in the trees of a normal educational career. In this workshop we'll approach the study of narrative from a new direction: Japanese Animation. Using Anime we will explore learning objectives from the North Carolina Grade 9-10 English Language Arts curriculum. Class activities will include watching anime, writing analysis, discussion, graphic and chart creation, and educational games. Some of the materials will be Rated TV-14 in the US and we will be following a high school level curriculum, however, the content will still be accessible for students under this age.

Tuition: 380
Course: The era of personal 3D printing is upon us! The cost of in-home 3D printers has dropped to a point that many people now have 3D printers in their own home. Powerful and free 3D design software allows users to design and customize three dimensional objects - limited only by the bounds of our imagination and ingenuity.
Students will learn the basics of 3D printing, from the computer to reality. We will use Tinkercad, web-based 3D modeling software, to design our models, which we will use to test the limits of this amazing technology. This camp will be focused on learning the basics of 3D design and printing through guided projects as well as giving students the opportunity to bring their own ideas to life. No prior experience required.
We have a number of 3D printers, but not enough for every student to have continuous access to their own, so there will be some variable time where students engage in other activities.
