CIT & Interns
Our Counselors-In-Training (CIT) and Interns gain real work experience and an opportunity to practice leadership skills. We're excited to continue these on-campus programs for Summer 2024!
We've been grateful for a strong response to these opportunities. At this time, we have limited availability left for CIT and Intern positions in certain sessions.
CIT PROGRAM (AGES 13 TO 15)
Hours: Monday 8:00 am to 3:15 pm, Tuesday-Friday 8:30-3:15pm
Cost: $150 per session
Commitment: At least two weeks (they don't need to be consecutive)
Our CIT program participants benefit from our Leadership Challenge course, enjoy a sense of community with their fellow CITs, and gain skills through assisting Summer Programs teaching staff mentors.
Intern Program (AGES 16+)
Hours: 8:40 am to 3:15 pm
Paid position
Commitment: At least two weeks (they don't need to be consecutive)
Our high school and college-aged Interns work with the Summer Programs staff in a variety of roles, including helping in the office and in our food service operations, supporting students and teachers in the classroom, providing supervision and fun activities for students during lunch and other breaks, mentoring middle-school-aged Counselors-In-Training, and more. We welcome former CITs as Interns, but no previous experience is required.
Interns are also eligible to work as paid Extended Day staffers in the morning and/or afternoons, helping supervise younger campers who stay past the regular camp day. Those shift options are 7:50-9:00 am, 3:00-4:15 pm, or 3:00-6:00 pm.
I want to be an elementary school teacher, which I figured out partly through my work as a CIT. Past Counselor-In-Training
