Yoga for Maui
A Fundraiser for Fire Relief
There is no age limit to learning and living with purpose. Our Adult Enrichment opportunities vary from guided travel across the country and globe to exploring movement and more right here at home.
Schedule: 10:00 am - 11:30 am, Saturday 28 October
Course Description: The wildfires in Maui have been devastating and heartbreaking for so many. As a former Maui resident, yoga instructor Olynda Smith has felt especially called to help in any way that she can.
This donation-based class is designed for us to give some TLC to ourselves and others at the same time. We'll work through the body to cultivate tools to help us be both grounded and spacious. It is likely we will giggle at least a few times and leave feeling stronger, more aligned, and more connected.
It will be an all levels class - Olynda will make sure there are options for everyone to get what they need from their time on the mat. The class will be geared to adults, but younger yogis (teens and tweens) are welcome.
We will have some props and mats for people to use, but if you have your own, please do bring them.
And, all proceeds go directly to Maui relief!
A CFS staff member and an Upper School student helper will provide complimentary childcare for ages 3 and above.
Instructor: With over 20 years of yoga teaching experience, Olynda Smith (E-RYT 500) is a versatile teacher able to guide new yoga students as well as inspire and challenge students who have been practicing for many years. In every class she brings a deep knowledge of physical alignment together with the philosophy of Yoga. She is known for creating a warm non-judgmental learning environment and for being able to bring the spiritual teachings of yoga to life in a grounded and usable way. Along with her yoga work, Olynda is a devoted mama of two, a Simplicity Parenting Family Life Coach, a Montessori Early Childhood educator, and a faculty member of CFS' Peaceful Schools NC.
