Early School
Our children learn through creating deep and lasting relationships with the world around them. At Carolina Friends School, we nurture overall human development, including cognitive and physical skills and social and emotional intelligence. We know that attention to process leads to exceptional outcomes.
Our program welcomes children ages 3-6 across three locations: our Main Campus on the border of Durham and Orange Counties, our Chapel Hill Early School by UNC, and our Durham Early School by Duke University. Each Early School campus is staffed by highly trained and experienced educators who bring purposeful attention to what helps children best grow and develop.
We believe that students, teachers, and families can together empower children to realize their best self, animated by the idea that each child has a sacred individuality to be honored.
Identifying concepts inside and outside of the classroom fosters curiosity and inquiry, deepening understanding. We provide our students with opportunities to adventure out, whether it's Durham Early School exploring downtown Durham or Duke Gardens, Chapel Hill Early School walking to nearby UNC Chapel Hill's campus, or Campus Early Schoolers engaging with learners of many ages from across our wooded, 126-acre main campus.
