US Girls' Soccer Team Makes it to the State Tournament Semifinals! |

The Upper School girls' soccer team made it to the semifinals of the NCISAA 2A state tournament before losing to eventual state champion Covenant Day School (Matthews). After earning a 5th seed, the highest seed ever awarded a CFS team in a state tournament, the team had beaten #4 seed Carolina Day School (Asheville) in a thrilling double overtime match to advance to the semifinals -- the first trip for the school ever to a semifinal event.
The team's success was complemented by several individual honors. Seniors Lauren Berry, Hannah Friedman, Caitlin Linney, and Mary Weir were named to the Triad Athletic Conference all-conference team. Lauren was voted co-player of the year. Lauren and Hannah were also named to the 2A all-state team.
