Posted 07/02/2010 03:10PM

Henry Walker, who's been a staff member at CFS for more than 30 years, has taught Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird to our Middle Schoolers for at least 15 of those years. He recently joined host Frank Stasio on WUNC's The State of Things to discuss the novel on its 50th anniversary.

Other guests included Karla FC Holloway, James B. Duke Professor of English and professor of law at Duke University; Jay O’Berski and Regina Rouse of the Little Green Pig Theatrical Concern; Michael Malone, novelist, screenwriter, and visiting professor of theater studies at Duke; and Minrose Gwin, professor of English and creative writing at UNC-Chapel Hill and author of the new novel, The Queen of Palmyra.

You can learn more and listen to the broadcast at http://wunc.org/tsot/archive/sot0701abc10.mp3/view.

Thanks to Henry for sharing some of the intellectual engagement at Friends School with the wider world!
