Extended Learning @ Carolina Friends, an office launched in Fall 2016, encompasses existing AfterHours offerings and Summer Programs. In addition, we're exploring new enrichment options for students, adults, and families--in the CFS community and beyond.
Enrollment is open for Summer Programs 2017, which runs for eight weeks, from June 19 to August 11. We have an Early Learners program for students as young as four and, for the first time, courses for high school students. Please join us for summer fun!
In the meantime, we've launched school-year Enrichment courses. For Spring 2017 (five weeks beginning the week of April 10), we have:
- Lower School: Choir (1st-4th years), by CFS Teachers Jenni Scoggin and Joanna Sisk-Purvis
- Lower School: MyChi (1st-4th years), by CFS Parent Art Lawida
- Lower School: Photo Explo (1st-4th years), by Upper School Teacher Amelia Shull
- Middle School: Rock the Boat: Youth Activists Making a Difference for Social Justice, by Middle School Teacher Lisa Joyner
See the course descriptions and other information. Online enrollment begins at 6:00 pm Tuesday, February 28.
And, we're piloting Camp CFS, a fun all-day care option for Lower and Middle Schoolers on the staff workday of Wednesday, February 22.
Online enrollment for Extended Learning offerings--Student and Family Enrichment courses, Camp CFS, and Summer Programs--can be completed with a free account at our CampInTouch site.
Even if during enrollment you learn a course is full, we hope you'll complete the process and go automatically onto the wait-list. A spot may open, demand may be sufficient for us to try to create an additional section, or at the very least we'll have more accurate information about demand that can help inform future programming. Thank you!
