A CFS Innovation Hub for Student, Adult, and Family Enrichment
Extended Learning @ Carolina Friends, an office launched in Fall 2016, encompasses existing Extended Day PM (AfterHours) offerings and Summer Programs. In addition, we're exploring new enrichment options for students, adults, and families--in the CFS community and beyond.
FALL 2017 PROGRAMS
We're piloting a new Extended Day AM before-school care program October through December. Working parents can drop off their child(ren) as early as 7:30 am for fun and games in the Quaker Dome!
In October and November, we have five after-school Student Enrichment courses open to Lower or Middle School students from within and outside the CFS community (home, traditional public, charter, and other independent schools).
In December, we're hosting a Family Enrichment course, Natural Holiday Decorating, open to children and their parents (and may add another family event for Fall).
We're offering Camp CFS, a fun all-day care option for Lower and Middle Schoolers, on seven staff professional development and work days.
Our new Girl Scouts troop (meeting the every other Sunday afternoon) has reached its maximum enrollment of seven CFS participants and seven students from other schools.
Registration will open for Summer Programs 2018 in late January or early February. If you weren't enrolled in the previous two summers and would like to receive automatic notification when we're ready to share our schedule, please email ExtendedLearning@cfsnc.org. We'll have an Early Learners program for students as young as four and courses for high school students. Please join us for summer fun!
Stay tuned for more information about an Australia student and staff exchange program, adult enrichment courses, a July 2018 trip to England, and more!
Online enrollment for Extended Learning offerings can be completed with a free account at our CampInTouch site.
If during enrollment you learn a course is full, we encourage you to go on the wait-list (with no financial or other obligation). A spot may open, demand may be sufficient for us to try to create an additional section, or at the very least we'll have more accurate information about demand that can help inform future programming. Thank you!
