School Cancellations

Due to inclement weather the Woodcrest Farm School Family Days schedules have changed. All events for Saturday have been cancelled, however, the Sunday hours have been extended to 1:00 - 6:00 pm. Furthur changes to the schedule will be posted here if necessary. Everyone should wear boots because of the muddy ground! (last updated 4/5/08 9:15 am)

The decision to open or close school is made by 7:00 AM. Please do not call the school or staff for an earlier decision. Please refresh your brower to be sure you have the latest information.

About Snow Days

Conditions on local county roads surrounding the main campus often differ from those in town. It is this county situation that dictates our closings.

If bad weather sets in during the school day, feel free to pick up your children at your discretion. You needn't call first. Please make prior arrangements with your children and their drivers concerning at-school closings. Remind Upper School students who drive carpools to make plans with their riders ahead of time in case of an early school dismissal. Our phone lines do not meet the needs of over four hundred students when at-school closings occur.

As a matter of record, every attempt is made to open school each day as planned.

In addition to the information on this web page, announcements are made over three radio stations: WCHL (1360 AM) and WUNC (91.5 FM) in Chapel Hill and WDNC (620 AM) in Durham. TV Stations will be contacted, but radio is more reliable than TV.

On television, tune to WTVD (Channel 11) in Durham and WRAL (Channel 5) in Raleigh for closing information.

Another option for checking on school closings/reopenings is to call the main number (383-6602) and press 8 to hear a message about the status of school for that day.
