To be considered for tuition aid for the 2009-2010 school year, families of current CFS students should proceed as follows:
-
Before December 1, 2008: To apply online, go to Tuition Aid / Data Services (TADS) at www.tuitionaid.com, and use your credit card to submit the application. If you cannot apply online from home, call us (ext 221) to arrange to use a CFS computer to apply. Follow this by sending to TADS all documents requested to support your application.
-
If you are a student, please write a letter in which you describe your program, progress toward a degree, and expected date of graduation. It is customary for the Tuition Aid Committee to allocate aid to parents who are students on a temporary basis, expecting that this money will become available for other families after a reasonable time.
-
In cases where parents are separated or divorced, we ask that both households fill out separate financial aid applications. In rare circumstances we agree not to involve the non-custodial parent. If you need to make special arrangements, call Kathleen Davidson (ext 240) or John McGovern (ext 268) at CFS.
-
If a parent is not employed and you believe that we should not impute income (i.e., calculate financial need based on the probability that the parent could be employed at least part-time), please call or write to explain what circumstances stand in the way of the parent’s employment (e.g., caring for preschool-aged children or older parent, recovering from illness, dealing with the challenges of a disability, etc.).
-
We do not want the TADS application fee to prevent families from applying for tuition aid. We have a limited number of waivers. If you cannot pay the fee, call Kathleen Davidson to inquire about a waiver.
-
When the School sends out re-enrollment contracts, you will receive a contract that reflects your tuition aid grant if you have applied for aid on time.
-
In order for tuition aid to be applied to your family’s account at CFS, you will need to arrange for automatic bank draft with the CFS Business Office. Beginning July 1, 2009, your bank account will be automatically debited monthly for 1/12 of the tuition owed to CFS.
If you have questions regarding these policies or your specific situation, please call CFS and talk with Kathleen Davidson (383.6602 ext 240) or John McGovern (ext 268). To discuss your account, payment arrangements, or the automatic draft, contact Sue Summers, CFS Business Manager (ext 236).
