A number of classes include learning from nature and interacting with the environment. Among these are: Solar Construction, Plant Propagation, Sustainable Futures, Twig Garden Structures, Basket weaving, and Wilderness Stewardship.

End of Year experiences take students out of their comfort zone to interact with nature. The Experience the West trip and North Carolina Backpacking particularly highlight experiences with nature.
