The US has a number of classes that are co-taught by teachers representing different interests and discipline areas. Among these are: Art History, Double Helix, Adolescent Health Issues, and Senior Seminar.
-
The Upper School has a number of classes that are cross-registered in different discipline areas (primarily humanities courses that could serve as language arts or social studies offerings). Among these are: Dante, Holocaust and Human Behavior, War and Peace, Southern Women, Art with Purpose, Constitutional Law, and Cultural Anthropology.
-
The Upper School teachers have created a number of opportunities to interact with teachers in other units who teach similar subject areas. In the winter of 2002, science teachers from the Lower, Middle, and Upper School went to New Mexico for a professional development workshop and time to develop their curriculum jointly.
